Great Job!Just a quick note re North Newington fete, to say thanks for your companies help this weekend. It went very well and already I have heard of a number of people who will be attending one of your meal evenings each month. The gentleman who came along did a great job and is a credit to Hook Norton Brewery.
Thanks again.

Convert!I have just had a party at the weekend and for this party I came to your brewery and purchased two polypins, one of Old Hooky and one of Hooky Gold. this proved to be very popular and to my amazement both were finished on the night. What wonderful beer in the polypins, I am now a convert to real ale. Once again thanks |
Amazing Pub!We called in recently at the Peyton Arms at Stoke Lyne. We'd never been there before and found it in the Good Beer Guide. We were travelling back from Bedfordshire and thought it would be nice to stop off for a drink on route home. This pub is amazing. The ale was amazing (Old Hooky). The landlord Mick was great - so friendly and welcoming. The beer is the best we've tasted in a while - lately no-one seems to be able to keep their beer properly and we've suffered a few 'bad' pints elsewhere over the last few weeks. It's a pity we could only stay for a short while but we will definitely be returning. |
Fascinating Tour.Thank you very much for the fascinating tour and delicious tasting last night. Malcolm was an excellent guide and our guests (from Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Turkey and Japan) managed to understand everything he said. This was the first time that we have experienced the Hook Norton Brewery tour, it really was a perfect evening and we will be back soon! |
From Russia with Love!I've tested occasionally today 2 bottles of Haymaker Beer, made by you in UK, and I would like express my "thanks a lot to you". The test of your beer is phantastic really! Never tested before such aromatic pale ale. Respect to your brewery! You must be proud about product, you do! Thanks a lot and best regards from Moscow!

A Perfect Example10 days ago my wife and I were driving from Nottingham to visit friends in Wiltshire when, fed up with the usual rubbish from so called service stations, decided to stop at the Peyton Arms which is about half way. Although I have been there a couple of times some years ago it was the sort of place my wife might like, assuming it was still open. I was very pleased to see that it was. When we pulled up my wife, who needs 2 walking sticks, was promptly met by Mick, the landlord, who insisted on helping her over the uneven path into the pub. We were immediately welcomed into what Mick described as his 'front room' as friends and made to feel at home. Fresh rolls with a slab of 'real' cheese (not soap flakes), home made chutney and not a piece of chewed up lettuce in sight. The Hook Norton Bitter was spot on and with good company we stayed a lot longer than originally intended. Although we had originally planned a different route back home the Peyton Arms was a 'must' on the way home. All-in-all, a perfect example of the type of pub which is so rare nowadays, one that is a great credit to Hook Norton Brewery. My only complaint is that it's not 50 miles further North! Kind regards to all concerned |
Great Tour, Great Pub!Back in August myself & my wife, visited your Brewery & had a wonderful Tour. The guide was so helpful and made the tour so interesting & the tasting of your excellent beers rounded the tour off so well. But yesterday we visited the Peyton Arms at Stoke Lyne & in all my life i have never visited such a wonderful pub. It was like going back in time. The landlord Mike is something else making us so welcome & and all the regulars doing the same. The beer straight from the barrel was the best i have ever tasted. I just thought i had to send you this e-mail & will spread the word to get people to visit Mike at the Peyton Arms. Thank you & best wishes |
In time for Christmas?I'd just like to let you know that the beer you sent out yesterday has today arrived in Taunton. I just wanted to pass on my thanks to you, I really appreciate your efforts to get my purchase to me on time, in difficult circumstances and at cost to your self as a result of the trouble with Royal Mail. You exemplified wonderful customer service!
I will definitely order from you guys again!
Merry Christmas,
Joe |
A Great Time!My wife and I toured your brewery on Wednesday and enjoyed ourselves so much we felt we should write to thank the Hook Norton team for the great experience we had. Our intended tour guide didn't show up so Jim took over at short notice. What a star! His personality and knowledge of the brewing process really made our visit a thoroughly enjoyable one. It was nice to be able to see the brewing process in full flow. We have toured other breweries but have never seen the brewing process active so this was a real treat too. We were also lucky enough to see the shire horses called down and tacked up by your drayman, Roger. He talked us through the history of the Hook Norton shire horses and we saw them set off a bit later. All in all we had a great time and would like to congratulate the team at Hook Norton for running a terrific brewery and visitor centre. Your staff are a real credit to your company. We will certainly drink Hook Norton ales wherever we can and we hope to return to your brewery one day soon.

I Love Hook Norton Beers!!Just to say I love Hook Norton Beers and your ethos. I'm so glad that my local pub ~ Butchers Arms ~ in Kings Sutton has been taken over by Rene and Ali Klein. They really turned around the Great Western, which, as you know, is now a destination pub, a down to earth gastro pub, more just wet trade. I hope they can do the same for the Butchers. The Butchers Arms resident managers Celina Guingand & David Paine totally rock, Celina has stamped her French style and certain je ne sais quoi on the place; they removed the pool table and juke box, spruced the place up and immediately stamped the Great Western's subtle signature look of fresh flowers, candles, and so on to create an enticing ambience which everybody immediately comments on entry. It's classy now. In the kitchen they have wrought miracles; David Paine is an accomplished, supremely skilled, consummate chef with flair; the food is to die for, best steak ever I had, cooked rare to perfection. And a special last week involving truffle oil, was simply heaven. As for Kings Sutton's White Horse's mediocre food fare, its blown out of the water by David's cuisine. I won't mention the Three Tuns. The front of house staff are stars. Andy has already built up a village following for his vibrant, intelligent witty repartee and depth of knowledge of the wet side of things. He's one to keep for sure. He has superb social and customer care skills, as the SAS say: Who Cares Wins. Successful people like Andy, Celina and David are always looking for opportunities to help others it seems; they and other members of the team there, make a long term relationship, then do everything possible to build and maintain it. The Great Western empire looks like a great place to work, fun, great teamwork, that really comes across, customer focus, top morale, enthusiastic, did i say fun fun, cheerful, are all traits that seem to run through the DNA of The Great Western and The Butchers Arms like a stick of rock. In my three years in Kings Sutton I seen several licensees fail at the Butchers Arms currently it's a tough economic climate outlook out there, as you know; austerity budgets, double dip recession, deflation looming. If Ali and Rene Klein can't turn the Butchers Arms around, frankly I don't know who could.
Keep up the good work
Good luck
