Keeping the Cherington in the community
The Cherington Arms is a cheerful, comfortable pub for all the community. And the new licensee, local man, John Hitchman intends to keep it that way. “The Cherington is the place to meet friends for a social drink, have a lunch or an evening meal,” said John.
“It is an important focal point for the surrounding villages, now that the post office, butchers and local school have all shut.” A new menu has been prepared and he promises it is an English country menu made with local ingredients - featuring steak and kidney pie, gammon, shepherds pie, sausages and mash, and always at least two vegetarian dishes. Sandwiches will be available.
The traditional pub games are staying, music returns on Monday nights and with a large car park ramblers and walking groups are welcomed.
