The Gate Inn Upper Brailes
Overview:
The Gate Inn is situated in the small village of Brailes at the upper end of the village and has an average turnover split of 40% drinks and 60% food. It offers hospitality to the local community and is a regular stopping point for groups of walkers enjoying the countryside. It is also the base for many ramblers attempting the five-mile Brailes Three Hills walk on May Day, business people and those wanting somewhere special to celebrate a family occasion.

The trading area of the pub consists of a lounge bar/restaurant area and a main bar area. The Gate Inn is a fine pub built of local stone. Inside, the scene is set by old beams, brass ornaments, a fire blazing in a stone hearth and a serving area decorated with hop vines. To the rear of the property there is a large lawned garden area with picnic tables. There is also a rear car park that can be found through the old Coaching Inn's archway.
Location/Approximate distances
The pub lies 13 miles from Stratford Upon Avon, which is a busy and thriving market town on the banks of the River Stour and a tourist spot famous for being the home of William Shakespeare. There are excellent train links available to London and the South as well as Birmingham and the North.
The M40 is approximately 16 miles away, and there are links to the M42, M6 North, M5 and M25 South. There are also train services available going to London Paddington and London Marylebone from Banbury as well as to the North (Birmingham through to Scotland). Direct trains to Oxford are also available.
